French artist Thomas Bangalter, formerly part of Daft Punk, has released his latest track, an ambient creation titled ‘CHIROPTERA’. The 17-minute track debuted at the Opéra National de Paris, in conjunction with an installation by JR.

The performance was part of JR’s transformation of the Palais Garnier, which included redesigning the scaffolded exterior into a “vast cave that opened to a passage filled with rocks and light”, the second act in the project.

The music includes dynamic peaks and troughs paired with synchronized dancers to create an audio-visual experience that received a round of applause at its conclusion. Fans speculated whether the track would be released on streaming services, with confirmation that it will become available on June 7 with the announcement that Bangalter and JR are collaborating on an upcoming exhibition at the Paris Saint Claude Gallery.

This release marks Bangalter’s first since the tracks he composed for the surreal comedy ‘Daaaaaalí!’, which scored by Bangalter and released on February 7
