London-based indie rock group Picture Parlour have announced the release of their debut EP ‘Face In The Picture’ and have shared the title track to celebrate. Set to drop on June 14, the EP combines the band’s love of film with influence from David Lynch and Alejandro Jodorowsky. In collaboration with artist duo Will and Ed Reid, Picture Parlour has introduced a visual side to the project.
The single ‘Face in the Picture,’ according to frontwoman Katherine Parlour, is about the haunting impact of our life experiences and how we carry the past with us long after it’s over. “The face in the picture represents the haunting of the past. The song confronts turbulent relationships with the things we have seen or experienced,” she explained.
This announcement comes after the band’s successful debut singles in 2023, baseless industry trolling regarding their authenticity, and huge support slots for Bruce Springsteen and The Last Dinner Party. Picture Parlour has stated this new release will concentrate and focus on the music itself.
Picture Parlour is set to perform live for the remainder of 2023, including appearances at Mad Cool, Deer Shed, Latitude, Provinssi, Music Im Park festivals. The band is also scheduled to open for Bombay Bicycle Club on July 12th at Alexandra Palace Park. At their intimate release party, taking place on June 18th at Third Man Records store in London, fans will get the chance to hear more of Picture Parlour’s new music.
The EP ‘Face In The Picture’ will also include ‘Dial Up’, ‘Ronnie’, and ‘Moon Tonic,’ available for pre-order/ pre-save now. While for the fans, what really matters is what the band creates, Picture Parlour has had a huge surge of popularity in recent years, and its new EP release is highly anticipated. With a sold-out release party and host of shows ahead, Picture Parlour is set to take the world by storm
