The director of new film “Winter Spring Summer Or Fall”, Tiffany Paulsen, has defended one of the movie’s stars, Percy Hynes White, following a recent allegation of sexual misconduct against him. The film, which premieres later this month at the Tribeca Film Festival, follows the “Addams Family” spin-off show “Wednesday” which Hynes White appeared in as Xavier Thorpe. The film is a romantic drama featuring classic tropes of romcoms with a generous helping of YA fizz.

The allegations emerged in a recent since-deleted post on Instagram by an anonymous user that claimed they had been sexually assaulted by White at a party where the actor was hosting. The accuser also accused White of deliberately attempting to get women drunk so that they would have sex with him. The actor took to Instagram to refute the allegations describing them as false and saying that it was a campaign of misinformation.

The film directed by Paulsen was completed in 2022, before the accusation against Hynes White surfaced in January 2023. Paulsen spoke to Forbes about the situation during the film’s post-production stage saying, “We do know this is a touchy area and of course, it’s out there, so it would be hard not to discuss it on some level.” Paulsen went on to describe her professional relationship with Hynes White as “a family”, saying she “look[s] forward to working with him again”.

Filming for season two of “Wednesday” is currently underway, and last year it was reported that Hynes White had been written out of the season. The new cast for season 2 was recently announced, which includes Steve Buscemi and Billie Piper.
