The streaming service shared an image of what is believed to be the script for the upcoming film and confirmed that the movie will star Cillian Murphy in the lead role.
In the post, Netflix revealed that the movie will be titled A Peaky Blinders Film, however, it remains to be seen whether this title will be final. The streaming platform also shared a quote from Murphy, who expressed his excitement at returning to the iconic role of Tommy Shelby. Other details about the film remain scant, including a release date, but it is believed that production will begin later this year.
According to an interview with Deadline, the movie will be set during World War II, with writer Steven Knight promising that it will be “an explosive chapter” in the Peaky Blinders story. The film will be directed by Tom Harper and is hotly anticipated by fans of the show, which ran for five seasons on the BBC before being picked up by Netflix.
