Mayhem Festival, one of the United States’ most popular heavy metal festivals, has made a comeback for the first time since 2015, revealing its star-studded lineup. In a recent social media post, it was announced that Mayhem Festival is set to take place on October 12 at San Bernardino, California. The festival will now be a one-day event instead of the touring festival it used to be.
Unlike its previous iterations, this year Mayhem Festival will feature young and upcoming acts, boasting the likes of Bad Omens, Poppy, and other rising stars of the heavy metal scene. Headlining Mayhem’s return are all-star performers Bad Omens, Parkway Drive, Architects, Jinjer, and pop-metal queen Poppy. Other performers include heavy metal legends Kittie, August Burns Red, Suicide Silence, and Mothica.
Tickets for the festival have not yet gone on sale, but fans can sign up for early access on the Mayhem Festival’s official website. The event is anticipated to be a celebration of the resurgence of heavy metal culture and will bring together fans of every iteration of this beloved genre.
Mayhem Festival’s last iteration, which took place in 2015, was a touring festival that featured 26 events in less than two months between June and August of that year. Some of the biggest names in the heavy metal scene performed, including Slayer, King Diamond, The Devil Wears Prada, Thy Art Is Murder, Code Orange, and many more.
