Liverpool City Council is set to host an Early Years Recruitment Event on Wednesday, June 12, encouraging anyone aged 16 and above who is interested in the educational and childcare sectors to attend. The event, which will take place at The Liner Hotel near Lime Street Station, is targeted at unemployed and working individuals looking to switch careers. Early Years covers the first five years of a child’s life and includes playgroups, nurseries and childminders. Doors will be open from 2-7pm.
Training providers, as well as Early Years employers with vacancies to fill, will be present at the event. Visitors can gain guidance on the learning and qualifications required for working in the sector from the council’s Adult Learning Service and the Liverpool Ways to Work Team, which will be on hand to provide extra support for jobless individuals. The government’s Early Years Careers website also provides a list of Merseyside vacancies.
Kate Bull, Director of Economic Strategy, Skills and Sustainability, highlighted the importance of Early Years in building a strong future for a city, citing the continued expansion of funded national childcare offers and wraparound schemes in the sector. She said that the recruitment event would provide the suitable environment for people considering Early Years for the first time or looking to develop their careers.
Joanne Towes, HR and business development officer at Parks Options, which is attending the event, looks forward to promoting a job campaign teaching attendees about Life Bank Nursery. Parks Options is also excited to network with other providers in the Early Years sector at the event. The event is free but it is advisable to reserve a place via Eventbrite
