Dutch nightclub De School has launched a digital archive known as Het Archief, which consists of over 800 DJ sets and live performances recorded during its existence from 2016 to 2024. Notable musicians, such as Call Super, rRoxymore, Ryan Elliott, Carista, Hunee, Objekt, SPFDJ, AceMo, Ikonika, Bored Lord, and AIDA, are featured in the archive. The collection includes sets from De School’s veteran DJs, oddities, and live sets from artists like Buttechno, Nene H, Phase Fatale, and Steffi.
At the same time, music platform Podium Kunst and archivist Stadsarchief co-constructed the archive utilizing Mixcloud. The offering allows filtering based on factors such as club night or year, and even the room in which the set was recorded. Het Archief spans nearly ten years of insights and contains some of the most remarkable performances in the club’s history.
The announcement comes months after the club’s farewell program in December, which presented performances from international and local DJs, featuring six rooms of sound, visual artwork, and installations. The facility closed its doors early in 2024, causing significant sorrow among the music community.
Het Archief serves as a testament to the club’s legacy as one of the most important venues on the globe. The archive includes some of the most unusual and vibrant electronic music moments in the last decade. The collection represents the dedication, enthusiasm, and professionalism of De School, leading the way for the electronic music industry worldwide
