Courteeners has announced a warm-up show before their scheduled performances at various UK festivals this summer. Courteeners plans to headline Lytham Festival in Lancashire on July 5 followed by an appearance at TRNSMT Festival in Glasgow on July 13. In preparation for this summer event, the band is set to play a “special warm-up show” at Sheffield Octagon on July 4. Tickets for the show go on sale this Friday at 9 AM BST.
Courteeners released their latest studio album titled “More. Again. Forever.” in January 2020 and last year, and they went to Number One in the UK with a 15th-anniversary copy of their debut album “St. Jude.” During a recent interview at Glastonbury 2023, the band’s frontman Liam Fray commented that they have two new albums in the works.
Courteeners is scheduled to perform at Boardmasters and Victorious Festival in August. In April, they were awarded Band of the Year at the inaugural Northern Music Awards. The group also played a gig in London at the relaunch of Club NME, which was followed by a surprise DJ set from The Libertines’ Carl Barat and Gary Powell.
The band has previously played at sold-out shows in Heaton Park, with the most recent one being in 2019. Courteeners announced in September 2020 that they planned to stage an open-air gig at Emirates Old Trafford. The event, which was meant to be held on July 10, was later cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The band has since rescheduled and is hoping to host a sold-out show in May 2022 at the venue
