Jeremy Renner is the latest addition to the upcoming film Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery. The third film in the Knives Out series, following 2022’s Glass Onion, will begin production next month and release in 2025. Renner joins the cast alongside Glenn Close, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Josh O’Connor, and Caile Spaeny, with Daniel Craig returning in his role as detective Benoit Blanc. Writer and director Rian Johnson is also returning for the third installment.
The film’s plot details have yet to be announced, but Johnson teased on social media that it will feature the most dangerous case yet for Blanc. Johnson also spoke about his love for exploring the range of the whodunit genre in making Blanc movies. Renner recently returned to acting after recovering from injuries sustained in a snow plow accident last year, while also revealing why he had to step away from the Mission: Impossible franchise.
In 2022, Johnson stated that he will continue making more sequels to Knives Out as long as Craig is onboard. Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery looks to continue the series’ success and intrigue with a star-studded cast and promising storyline. Fans of the series will eagerly await its release in 2025
