Jennifer Lopez cancels ‘This Is Me… Live’ tour “to spend time with family”

Jennifer Lopez has cancelled her upcoming summer tour ‘This Is Me… Live’ in order to spend more time with her family. In a message to her fans via her newsletter on May 31, the singer expressed sadness at having to cancel the tour, but stated that it was absolutely necessary. She added that she will make it up to her fans and promised to be together with them again.

Media outlets have reported that Lopez cancelling the tour was necessary due to rumours that she is divorcing her husband Ben Affleck, though there has been no confirmation of the reports. Earlier this week, Lopez avoided a question regarding the state of her marriage in a press conference, insisting that the reporter who asked the question should “know better than that.” Representatives for Lopez did not comment on the reports.

According to sources close to Lopez, the tour was not cancelled due to low ticket sales despite some cities experiencing poor sales. This would have been Lopez’s first North American tour in five years after the cancellation of seven shows in March this year. Entertainment Weekly previously reported that the cancellations were likely due to a logistical issue on the tour promoter’s end.

The name of the tour had been changed from ‘This Is Me… Now’ (after her latest album) to ‘This Is Me… Live’. Lopez has since expressed her sadness for letting her fans down and added she would make it up to them and hopes to perform for them again soon.

Ayo Edebiri also recently noted that Jennifer Lopez was “very chill” about their potential feud when they appeared on Saturday Night Live together this year. In an interview with Vanity Fair, Edebiri said any talk of a beef was absurd because “that would be like Mr. Bean and Mick Jagger beefing, and I’m obviously Mr. Bean. She’s J.Lo! She was very chill and nice about it.
