Paramount Pictures and Hasbro are reportedly developing a crossover movie featuring the Transformers and G.I. Joe in the lead roles. The announcement comes as Hemsworth’s collaboration with Paramount Pictures continues, with the actor likely to star in Transformers One, an animated movie expected to hit theaters in September 2024. The crossover movie storyline was hinted at in the final scene of Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts, which saw Autobots collaborating with G.I. Joe.
Lorenzo di Bonaventura, Mark Vahradian, Michael Bay, Tom DeSanto & Don Murphy will produce the film, while Steven Spielberg and Hasbro Entertainment are executive producers. However, there is no word yet on who will direct the movie, or which character Hemsworth will play. Plot details for the crossover film are also yet to be revealed, although it has been suggested that it could be inspired by the 1980s Marvel comic in which G.I. Joe and the Transformers first crossed paths.
As part of a recent collaboration with Paramount, Hemsworth was honoured with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. His fellow Marvel star Robert Downey Jr. paid tribute to him and even jokingly roasted him during the ceremony. After describing Hemsworth as a “remarkable human being” with a “contagious Aussie charm”, Downey Jr. summed up the tributes by others by stating that according to Jeremy Renner, Hemsworth was “absurdly annoyingly amazing,” while Mark Ruffalo referred to him as a “friend from work.”
All in all, Hemsworth is a remarkable talent, and it will be exciting to see him take on yet another big-screen adventure as part of this new collaboration with Hasbro and ParamountPictures. Although no further details have been released about the upcoming Transformers and G.I. Joe crossover, movie fans are already eagerly waiting to see what the Transformers-G.I.
