A 20-year-old man, arrested on suspicion of stabbing two women at Durley Chine Beach in Bournemouth, has been granted further time to be questioned by police. Amie Gray, a 34-year-old personal trainer, died at the scene, while a 38-year-old woman was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds. However, she has since been released. The man, from Croydon, London, was taken into custody on Tuesday, and police have now been granted extra time to interview him.
Dorset Police detectives have stated that the case is “fast-moving” and “extensive.” Officers have searched two separate addresses in Croydon as well as two locations in the town, according to the police. Last Friday, the two women were attacked on Durley Chine Beach in Poole, Dorset, at around 23:45 BST. A 17-year-old boy arrested on suspicion of murder initially has since been released without charge.
Mrs. Gray’s cause of death was recorded as multiple stab wounds when her inquest was opened at Bournemouth Coroner’s Court. Her wife, Sian, expressed immense grief on losing her and said that she would miss her dearly. Mrs. Gray’s mother described her as a loving and wonderful person who had an energetic soul. The women’s indoor football team, Dorset Futsal Club, where Mrs. Gray served as the head coach, expressed devastation at the tragic loss.
