In a statement released on Instagram on May 29, the organisers of the festival expressed their disappointment and frustration with the decision, stating that they followed the same procedures that they had for the previous 11 years and provided additional documentation this year.
The announcement came as a surprise to the festival organisers. They spent countless hours preparing for the June 29 – 30 event and didn’t anticipate any issues. PLTFRM FSTVL’s organisers have taken the delay as a setback, and as a result, have been forced to postpone the event until the usual September weekend. The organisers did not provide any further information on the delay or what it would mean for the festival-goers who have already purchased tickets. More information is expected to be released as plans for the rescheduled event solidify.
PLTFRM FSTVL’s postponement is only one of many events that have been cancelled or delayed due to the ongoing pandemic and the uncertainty around the relaxation of COVID-19 restrictions.
