Bodies found in search for missing father and son

A search operation has led to the discovery of two bodies in Glen Coe, though formal identification is yet to take place. Tom Parry, 49, and his 12-year-old son Richie, from Cheshire, had been reported missing in the area and police have informed the family. There do not appear to be any suspicious circumstances surrounding their deaths. The car used by the pair has been found in the Three Sisters car park in Glen Coe, from where they set out on Tuesday. The bodies were discovered during a search that involved emergency services and mountain rescue volunteers.

The father and son were due to return home on Wednesday after a trip to Glen Nevis and Glen Coe. Police confirmed that the pair had traveled to the area in their car. “Our thoughts are with all those involved,” said Insp Craig Johnstone in a statement. “I would like to thank all emergency services and mountain rescue volunteers.” The search operation is ongoing in the area.
