The UK’s tallest rollercoaster may be closed for up to two weeks due to unforeseen circumstances. Hyperia, which opened on Friday at Thorpe Park in Chertsey, Surrey, shut one day later and may remain closed until at least 8 June. A spokesperson for the theme park said they would continue to do everything they can to open the ride earlier. If visitors have pre-booked tickets for up to and including 7 June, they can change their booking online. Visitors who were present on the day of the closure are entitled to a free return visit.
According to the adventure park, Hyperia is the fastest and tallest rollercoaster in the UK and exceeds 80mph (129km/h). The ride includes 3,264ft (995m) of track, stands 236ft (72m) tall, and has Europe’s tallest loop.
