Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes explains how Billie Eilish collab rumours came about

During an interview with BBC Radio 1 Rock Show, Bring Me The Horizon’s Oli Sykes confirmed how the rumours about the band collaborating with Billie Eilish came about. Sykes had sent the music artist an unfinished version of a song entitled ‘limousine’ quite a long time before it was in its finished state, but he never found out if she listened to it or not. “So me thinking that ‘liMOusIne’ wouldn’t mean anything to anyone but me and maybe her if she saw the comment, [I] left it on her Instagram, not thinking that a week or two later when we did the tour, we put the file names on our visuals live, and everyone connected it,” Sykes explained. Fans had previously suspected a Billie Eilish collaboration with Bring Me The Horizon after Sykes left a cryptic Instagram comment which read “limousine” on one of Eilish’s posts.

Although Billie Eilish was not featured on Bring Me The Horizon’s latest album, ‘Post Human: Nex Gen,’ the band released a track entitled ‘liMOusIne’ which featured Norwegian singer Aurora’s guest vocals. Sykes sent Eilish an incomplete version of the song but later became embarrassed after the press started reporting on the incident. “It was one of them things that seemed like such a proper cheap way to try and get some press, but it really wasn’t. I was actually quite embarrassed when I found out – like, ‘Oh god, no!’ Because I knew the chance of Billie doing a song with us was slim to none,” Sykes admitted.

In addition to this, Bring Me The Horizon collaborated with Underoath, with Fans suspecting the collaboration after working out the tour visuals. The album received a glowing review from NME, which stated, “Few modern rock bands have made an album that is such a bombardment of sound and colour. Post-Jordan Fish, they continue to be what they’ve always been: a creative force that transcends the personalities of its individuals. It entirely justifies the four-year wait, which already feels like ancient history. Buckle up – because this is still BMTH’s world, and we’ll be living in it for quite some time yet.”

Overall, while everyone was eagerly anticipating Kevin Parker’s collaboration with Billie Eilish, the rumours involving Bring Me The Horizon’s collaboration with the artist have been confirmed false. Despite that, the band has received critical acclaim for their new album ‘Post Human: Nex Gen.
