Nicki Minaj apologises to fans over postponed Manchester show

Nicki Minaj has expressed regret to her supporters after the cancellation of a concert in Manchester following her arrest in the Netherlands. The rapper was due to perform at the city’s Co-op Live arena on Saturday, but she had to cancel at the last minute after being detained on suspicion of shipping drugs. Following her fine of €350 (£300; $380) by Dutch police and clearance to continue her trip, she stated on social media that she would perform at the Manchester location on 3 June and also apologised to her followers. Ticketmaster is due to get in touch with the fans who were planning to attend the cancelled show, according to her message.

Dutch officials stated to local media that Minaj was discovered with 30 to 100 grams of cannabis, however, the superstar implied that the pre-rolls were owned by her bodyguard. Minaj reported on X last Sunday, “I’ll have the lawyers and god take it from here tho,” adding, “They sure did know exactly how to hurt me today but this too, shall pass.”

About 20,000 people had been expected at the Co-op arena on Saturday night before the promoter, Live Nation, informed fans around 21:40 BST that the show would be terminated. Upon waiting for hours and travelling from other regions of the nation, a lot of her supporters, identified as the Barbz, were let down. On Sunday night, the rapper threatened to overcome the incident by continuing her Pink Friday 2 global tour in Birmingham.

Minaj shared that she spent around five to six hours held in custody before she was allowed to depart from Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. Fans will be anticipating her show next Monday in Manchester, a show which she promised would be very special
