During Coldplay’s headline set at the BBC Radio 1 Big Weekend, Sabrina Carpenter made a surprise appearance to perform ‘Magic’ with the band. Carpenter had earlier performed her own set at the festival, which is held in Luton. During ‘Fix You’, frontman Chris Martin seemingly prefaced Carpenter’s future appearance when he sang “that’s that me espresso.” The line is from Carpenter’s recent hit ‘Espresso’, which spent one month at the number one spot. After the duet, Martin complimented Carpenter on her lyrics and performance, with Carpenter responding by expressing her love for Coldplay.
Two years after their last album, Coldplay recently released ‘Music Of The Spheres’ in 2021. Earlier this year, they revealed that they were almost finished with their next album, which they confirmed would be their penultimate album before their planned 2025 split. Coldplay’s 25th anniversary edition of their debut EP, ‘Brothers & Sisters’, is set for release and features a new spoken word addition, ‘The Story Of Brothers & Sisters’. The band is also set to headline Glastonbury’s Pyramid Stage for a record fifth time, performing with SZA and Dua Lipa.
Sabrina Carpenter has recently been in the news for her hit single ‘Espresso’, which Adele named as “my jam.”
