After Manchester City’s record fourth consecutive league title victory, Gary Neville responded to taunts from Noel Gallagher by stating, “He lives in London! You can’t start talking about Manchester.” During the celebrations, City fan Gallagher sent a jibe to former Manchester United captain Neville, saying in an exaggerated Mancunian accent: “Gary Neville, at this moment in time, I wonder how he’s feeling.”
Neville shot back at Gallagher, telling BBC Manchester: “He’s been a big part of Manchester’s history, but he lives in London. Do you know what I mean, don’t talk about Manchester, you live in London.” Neville continued to poke fun at Gallagher’s lack of presence in Manchester, highlighting that he comes once a year for that trophy parade.
Neville and Gallagher have long been locked in a light-hearted war of words. In 2013, the Sky Sports pundit revealed that he once sent Noel a guitar for him to sign, but the musician emblazoned a Manchester City logo on it instead.
In other Gallagher news, Oasis has announced a 30th-anniversary reissue of 1994 debut album ‘Definitely Maybe’, featuring previously unheard recordings and outtakes. The special edition is due for release on August 30 via Big Brother Recordings. It will be available as a limited-edition 4LP record, a deluxe 2CD, exclusive coloured vinyl and other formats.
