FX has released the trailer for the new season of “The Bear”. The series stars Jeremy Allen White as an award-winning chef who returns to manage his late brother’s chaotic sandwich shop in Chicago. The show has been a great success over its first two seasons, winning 10 Emmys and four Golden Globes. The new 10 episodes are due to premiere on June 27 on FX and Hulu in the US and on Disney+ in the UK. Christopher Storer, Joanna Calo, Josh Senior, and the rest of the creative team behind the program are proud of the show’s success so far. Season three picks up with Carmy (White) having opened a reimagined restaurant named ‘The Bear’.

In the trailer, Ayo Edebiri’s Sidney, who has risen through the ranks in Carmy’s kitchen, declares “This is a dysfunctional kitchen,” to which Carmy and Richie (Ebon Moss-Bachrach), the restaurant’s manager, reply in unison: “Show me a functional one!”. Edebiri is not just acting in the show, she will also be directing one of the new episodes. Creator Storer encouraged Edebiri to visit the set daily during season two following her behind-the-scenes work on shows like Big Mouth and What We Do In The Shadows.

Deadline has reported that the show has already been renewed for both season four and a back-to-back shooting schedule was suggested for both upcoming seasons. Reviews for the show have been positive, with NME describing season two as an “intense ride, but it’s served up so deliciously, you’ll definitely be craving more come the end”.

The Bear is certainly not just for a niche audience and has attracted viewers for its character development throughout the series and unique plotlines. Season three looks certain to pick up where the previous two left off and delight both long-running fans and newcomers to the show
