June 2024 will see the highly-anticipated return of the hit crime drama series The Player, which first aired in 2018. Titled The Player 2: Master of Swindlers, the new season will feature additions to the talented team of scam artists, including Oh Yeon-seo and former fromis_9 member Jang Gyu-ri. Other upcoming K-dramas include My Sweet Mobster, a romantic comedy about the unlikely romance between a former gang leader and a content creator for a children’s YouTube channel, and Miss Day and Night, a comedy and romance drama about a young woman who transforms into an old lady at night.
Super Junior’s Choi Si-won will also lead the romantic-comedy DNA Lover, in which a gene-obsessed researcher attempts to find herself the ideal genetically compatible lover. Additionally, Netflix will unveil its new Korean original, Hierarchy, which is set in a prestigious and exclusive high school with a dark secret.
KBS2 will also be premiering the 100-episode K-drama Scandal, which follows a powerful woman who has sacrificed everything to succeed and her complicated relationship with a rising young actor.
The Player 2: Master of Swindlers will premiere June 3 on tvN, Hierarchy debuts on June 7 on Netflix, My Sweet Mobster premieres June 12 on JTBC, Miss Day and Night debuts on June 15 on JTBC, Scandal will debut on June 17 on KBS, and DNA Lover, premieres June 22 on TV Chosun. All shows will feature a star-studded cast of actors, as well as talented teams of directors and screenwriters. Fans of K-dramas have a lot to look forward to in June 2024
