American indie rockers We Are Scientists have revealed a series of UK tour dates for later this year. Celebrating the 15th anniversary of their second album ‘Brain Thrust Mastery’, the duo of Keith Murray and Chris Cane will perform the entire album at several smaller venues throughout the UK. The first show will be a secret event in London on 17 November, with Southampton, Bristol, Manchester, Sheffield, Leeds, Newcastle, and Glasgow also set to host performances. Tickets go on sale 31 May at 10 am BST.
“We’re not the sort of guys who care much about celebrating our birthdays or things like that, but we will do anything for a party,” said Murray of the album anniversary. “If you tell us that our highest-charting record with some of our biggest singles is being re-released, we’re gonna use that as an excuse to throw a rager in, say, Sheffield.”
‘We Are Scientists’ started this year with their eighth studio album ‘Lobes,’ and previously released ‘Huffy,’ both of which had positive feedback and reviews. Their latest single ‘Settled Accounts’ was described as their “funkiest tune yet.” The upcoming shows will coincide with the re-release of the album.
The band’s biggest songs like “After Hours,” “Chick Lit,” and “Impatience” are set to be played live with an intimate audience across the country. The duo has said they will not hold back when it comes to celebrating the album, and fans can expect a party-like atmosphere on every stage.
The band has enjoyed a largely successful and lengthy career since their formation in 2000, and their 15th-anniversary tour is something that fans have been asking for and anticipating. The upcoming shows are guaranteed to remind the musicians and concert-goers of what brought them together in the first place – a love of music and performance
