Duran Duran band members, Simon Le Bon and John Taylor faced criticism after posting a photo of themselves next to a Tesla Cybertruck on their Threads account, which they later deleted. The post received negative comments because of the anti-Elon Musk sentiment on the platform. Users on the Threads account posted a variety of comments including “Her name is Rio and she can’t drive in the sand” and “A View to a Shill.”

The group has expressed their interest in playing the Glastonbury Pyramid and has said they want to perform joined by Nile Rodgers and Mark Ronson. Simon Le Bon revealed his desires on the BBC stating, “I’d love to do it.”
The band members posted the picture on their Threads account saying, “You’ll never forget your first Tesla Cybertruck,” receiving negative comments. However, Katy Krassner explained that the post was taken in jest when they stood in front of a friend’s truck that they thought was funny. The band previously expressed interest in playing the Glastonbury Pyramid, an event they have never played before, and would like to do it alongside Mark Ronson and Nile Rodgers
