Ros Atkins, a BBC news presenter, has announced that he will perform at Glastonbury’s Stonebridge stage this summer with a “one-off drum and bass set,” after revealing his past as a drum and bass DJ in 2022. Alongside Atkins, the line-up will also include Batu B2B Bradley Zero, Sally C, Daphni, Groove Armada, and fellow BBC presenter, Annie Mac. Atkins expressed his excitement on Twitter, stating that “What started with a one-off drum and bass set for BBC6Music two years ago has ended up here. Very grateful for the invitation. Work on the set has already begun,”.
Similarly to Atkins, Kitty Amor, Luke Una, Blumitsu, Daniel Avery, MJ Cole, Saoirse, DJ Boring, Erol Alkan B2B DJ Paulette, Anish Kumar, Jamz Supernova, Inja, Elkka, and Lukas Wigflex also featured in the Stonebridge stage line-up. Atkins has also previously been invited to feature on Steve Lamacq’s Summer Soundclash show for BBC Radio 6 in the same year as unveiling his past as a DJ.
Atkins explained on Twitter that he “started going to raves & listening to hardcore and drum ‘n’ bass” with local teenagers in Cornwall back in the 90s. His work with the BBC is now as an Analysis Editor, however, he shared several photos proving his years of raving and involvement as a DJ on social media.
This year’s Stonebridge stage at Glastonbury has a lineup of talented DJs along with the surprise addition of Ros Atkins, who is eager about his upcoming drum and bass performance. He is grateful for the invitation, especially since it has been a passion of his since the early 90s.
