Neil Young & Crazy Horse announce new archival album ‘Early Daze’

Neil Young and Crazy Horse are releasing an archival album titled ‘Early Daze’. Neil Young announced the album this past weekend on his Neil Young Archives website. The record was originally recorded in 1969 with Crazy Horse and will be available on June 28 via Reprise Records, with pre-orders already being taken. The band’s unique style at the end of the 1960s is showcased in ‘Early Daze’, with the album capturing the essence of their live performances and their contribution to the evolution of rock and roll.

‘Early Daze’ features 10 songs, six of which have never been released. This includes different mixes of popular songs such as ‘Everbody’s Alone’, ‘Cinnamon Girl’, and ‘Birds’. The tracklist for ‘Early Daze’ features ‘Dance Dance Dance’, ‘Come On Baby Let’s Go Downstairs’ (unreleased version), ‘Winterlong’ (unreleased version), ‘Everybody’s Alone’ (different mix), ‘Wonderin” (unreleased version), ‘Cinnamon Girl’ (original 7″ mono mix), ‘Look at All The Things’ (unreleased version), ‘Helpless’ (unreleased version), ‘Birds’ (unreleased stereo mix), and ‘Down By The River’ (unreleased version with alternate vocals).

The album will be available in CD, digital, and vinyl formats, with two vinyl packages on offer. Buyers can choose between standard black vinyl or a limited edition clear vinyl that comes with an exclusive poster. In February, Crazy Horse released a new album called ‘FU##IN’ UP’, which contains songs from the band’s 50 year career, freshly recorded for 2024. The album arrived in April, and the band is currently on tour in North America until May 23. Tickets are presently on sale. The group most recently released music in 2021 with ‘Barn.’
