​Moby shares new track featuring the late Benjamin Zephaniah, ‘where is your pride?’

Electronic music artist Moby has released a new track titled “where is your pride?” that features dub poet and animal rights activist Benjamin Zephaniah, who passed away in December 2023 at the age of 65. The track features spoken word poetry from Zephaniah over a breakbeat, with a “powerful message” delivered in his characteristic, flowing style. The song will be included in Moby’s upcoming album “always centered at night,” which is set to be released on June 14. The album features 13 tracks with performances by serpentwithfeet, Lady Blackbird, and more.

Moby has cited Zephaniah as an inspiration for many years due to his work as a vegan activist and wise and compassionate man. The song is meant to honor Zephaniah’s legacy while drawing attention to his life, work, and principles. The album’s songs span several genres, including soul, jazz, breakbeat, trip hop, broken beat, Latin house, and drum ‘n’ bass.

The album’s guest performers include emerging and established artists from around the world, including Sudan’s Gaidaa, Burundian artist J.P. Bimeni, and Jamaica’s Aynzli Jones. “always centered at night” represents Moby’s 22nd studio album and is a testament to his immense talent and his ability to work with artists from around the world.

In September, Moby will embark on his first tour in over a decade, stopping in London, Manchester, Antwerp, Berlin, Paris, and more.
