Popstar Taylor Swift played ‘How Did It End?’ for the first time ever during her final show in Stockholm. Known for her surprise repertoire, Swift has so far played eight live debuts in one show and classic hits such as ‘Hey Stephen’ and ‘Maroon’ during her European tour. ‘How Did It End?’ is featured on the second part of her double album ‘The Tortured Poets Department: The Anthology’.
The singer is currently headlining the tour, with Paramore as a supporting act. Despite the controversy caused by a baby being left on the floor of the pit during one of her Paris gigs, Swift continues to perform across Europe and will be appearing in the UK and Ireland in June. Her eight shows at Wembley Stadium in London this summer form part of the schedule, with Paramore providing support. The UK economy is expected to receive a significant boost from her concerts as an estimated one in five of the 1.1 million ticketholders for the 15 UK dates across June and August will purchase new outfits specifically to wear for her concerts.
The photograph of the baby amid the beer cups and merchandise went viral and the venue later explained that it had offered alternative seating arrangements, which had been declined. As Swift performs in front of thousands of fans across the UK and Ireland, the revenue generated will form a significant part of the entertainment industry economy. Swift is renowned for her songwriting ability and although her fans were delighted with the surprise addition to the show, her reputation meant that this was not unexpected.
‘How Did It End?’ is a poignant song, poetically exploring the anguish of losing a lover whilst kicking against the unfairness of feelings hanging around. Swift’s new additions to her European setlist suggest she may be testing her new material out on her audience, constantly innovating to create content that her fans will adore
