Lil Yachty has given his input into the recent beef between Drake and Kendrick Lamar, stating that neither rapper “won or lost” the feud. The Atlanta rapper was implicated when Lamar called him out on his diss track “Euphoria”, in which he raps “Yachty can’t give you no swag neither, I don’t give a f*ck ’bout who you hang with”. While he had heard about his name being mentioned in the track before its release, he has made it clear that he didn’t want to take sides in the feud. Vince Staples stated that the community deserved better, and Questlove referred to it as “wrestling-match level mudslinging”. Some have even speculated that the roots of the feud may relate to the shooting outside Drake’s residence in Toronto earlier this year, though no official confirmation of this has been provided.
The incident certainly increased media focus on Drake’s life, and this culminated with a man attempting to break into his mansion in Toronto not long after the shooting.
