The organisers of Georgian festival “4GB” have announced the cancellation of the 2024 edition due to political unrest in the country. The festival was slated to kick off in Saguramo from May 25-27 but was called off mere days before its commencement.

In a statement posted on their Instagram page, the organisers cited the “situation in the country,” as a primary reason for the cancellation. “We consider it unjustified to hold a festival at this time,” read the statement. “Our full support to every person fighting for the European future of Georgia.”

The cancellation could be considered a blow to the country’s electronic music scene after the recent launch of an electronic music academy launched in Tbilisi. However, amidst severe political unrest, the organisers believe the cancellation is the way forward to support the communities fighting for democracy.

The festival is considered an essential destination for music lovers worldwide, showcasing electronic dance music, house, and techno from international names as well as local talent.
