Tom Brady says Netflix roast jokes upset his kids: “I wouldn’t do that again”

After seeing how his kids were impacted by his recent Netflix roast, Tom Brady has said he wouldn’t do another. The Greatest Roast of All-Time: Tom Brady featured comedians Kevin Hart and Nikki Glaser, as well as special guests Ben Affleck, Will Ferrell, and Kim Kardashian. During a recent appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Brady revealed that he loved the jokes about him, but his kids were left upset by some of the jokes. He said: “It’s the hardest part about…when you do something that you think is one way, and then all of a sudden, you realize I wouldn’t do that again because of the way that affected the people that I care about most in the world.”

Brady is the father of three children, Benjamin, Vivian, and Jack. Bündchen, Brady’s ex-wife, was frequently targeted throughout the comedy special, with many of the comedians joking about her relationship with her jiu-jitsu instructor. A representative for Bündchen claimed that she was “deeply disappointed by the disrespectful portrayal of her family” after the special aired. Glaser, who delivered arguably the harshest yet most successful roast of the night, said that she and the comedic team unanimously decided not to mention the Brady’s kids negatively throughout the show.

During his appearance on The Pivot Podcast, Brady admitted that he didn’t really understand what he was signing up for when he agreed to do the Netflix roast. However, he did want to do the roast because he knew and trusted Jeff Ross. He said that he would be a better parent going forward because of the experience and that he was happy everyone had fun. Although, at the end of the special, Brady took the stage to roast the comedians and some of his former NFL teammates, he also took shots at Taylor Swift and Kanye West in his set.

Brady’s children were affected by the jokes shared during the roast, a sentiment that he took seriously. As a parent, he realized the importance of considering how his actions might impact his loved ones. While he enjoyed being the butt of the jokes, he ultimately wouldn’t do it again to protect his children from experiencing negative emotions
