Leeds post-hardcore outfit Static Dress have returned with a brand new single called ‘Crying’. This is their first release in two years since their album ‘Rouge Carpet Disaster (Redux)’. The track shows the band venturing into new territories with their sound, integrating guttural tones into their music. The song comes with an accompanying music video that explores taboo subjects with themes such as guilt and self-loathing, corporate manipulation and weaponised lust. Lead vocalist Olli Appleyard hopes that it will stimulate conversations and questions.

Static Dress have had a big year; they recently played alongside Sheffield rock legends Bring Me The Horizon and are scheduled to perform at a number of live shows in the summer. This includes a mammoth run of performances later on in the year in support of Underoath, as well as a slot at the 2000trees Festival this July. The band is also hoping to develop their sound and blur genres with the aim of creating an energy that is unique and specific to their world.

Static Dress has released their tour dates in support of Underoath, which take place in 2024. The tour dates include cities such as Pittsburgh, Detroit, Denver and San Diego. The band has also partnered up with Gameboy to release ‘Rouge Carpet Disaster: The Video Game,’ which builds on the world established in their debut album.

The new single is an explosive addition to their discography, and fans will no doubt enjoy their fresh sound. Static Dress continue to push the limits of their music, and it’s anyone’s guess where this will lead them next. For the time being though, they are all set to perform live and leave audiences mesmerised
