Taylor Swift recently kicked off the European, UK and Ireland leg of her ‘Eras Tour’, which spans her entire career. The tour opened with four concerts at the Paris La Défense Arena last week. Her fans were pleasantly surprised when the pop star added some tracks from her 11th album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, to the setlist as a new ‘era’, replacing some of the previously performed songs.
As she wrapped up her shows in Paris, Swift took to social media to thank her crew for helping her create the new version of the show during the two-month break after the ‘Eras Tour’ visited Singapore in March. She wrote, “This post is dedicated to the new Tortured Poets section of the Eras Tour (aka Female Rage The Musical!) and everyone who made these memories so magical.”
The new segment of the gig included the songs ‘But Daddy I Love Him’, ‘Who’s Afraid of Little Old Me?’, ‘Down Bad’, ‘Fortnight’, ‘The Smallest Man Who Ever Lived’ and ‘I Can Do It With A Broken Heart’. To make way for the new additions, she dropped some tracks like ‘Long Live’, ‘The 1’, ‘Tolerate It’, and ‘The Archer’ from the previous setlist. She also combined the sections from ‘Folklore’ and ‘Evermore’ into one ‘era’.
The singer expressed gratitude to her crew, fellow performers, and band for working tirelessly to create a surprise for the fans and executed it successfully at the Paris shows. Swift concluded by saying, “I’m SO fired up to play this for every crowd on the tour. See you very soon, Stockholm!”
Paramore is the support act on the current leg of the tour, and fans are eagerly looking forward to the rest of the shows. Fans who want to keep track of the latest performances and the setlist can check out the singer’s social media accounts where she shares regular updates
