Recent datamining activities suggest that Rockstar Games is about to release Red Dead Redemption to the PC platform. According to Rockstar Games dataminer Tez2, the gaming giant recently updated its launcher site file and added marketing strings for the PC port of the 2010 third-person cowboy game. Tez2 shared a screenshot on Twitter showing the marketing copy, indicating that Rockstar is gearing up to release RDR1 on PC. Given that the game was recently released on Nintendo Switch and PS5, and is free for GTA+ subscribers, a PC port at this time makes perfect sense.
Fans are speculating that the official launch could come as early as May 18, which is the 11th anniversary of the game’s original launch date back in 2010 on PS3 and Xbox. The enhanced version of Red Dead Redemption that came out for modern consoles last year was met with some controversy due to its relatively high price. It is therefore not yet known whether the PC port will also draw ire from fans expecting a bargain on a 14-year-old game.
The Red Dead Redemption PC port will be coming with the zombie DLC, Undead Nightmare, a tonal shift from the serious but satirical and sometimes comedic base game.
