Rumors surrounding the ongoing feud between Canadian rapper Drake and Kendrick Lamar have been fueled by The Riddler, a mysterious Twitter user who posted footage of Drake’s personal possessions on social media. The surveillance footage, which has amassed over 10 million views since being posted, appears to be the same selection of items that were included on the cover of Lamar’s diss track “Meet The Grahams.” The user, who has become widely referred to as ‘The Riddler,’ has suggested they will post more footage of Drake unless he retracts claims he made in “The Heart Pt. 6” that he fed false intel for Lamar to find.
Conspiracy theories have spread rapidly around the footage, with fans speculating that it could imply that Drake was involved in an alleged assault. However, freelance journalist Christopher Alvarez, who is seen in the footage, has come forward and refuted the rumors, stating, “I was with Drake that night because we briefly met after dinner, but all the accusations are false.” Alvarez, who lives with a rare skeletal disorder requiring him to use a wheelchair, also added, “I don’t understand where it all got blurred with the fans.”
The feud between Lamar and Drake has been ongoing for years, but was exacerbated recently when Lamar contributed a verse to Future and Metro Boomin’s “Like That,” which Drake responded to with diss tracks “Push Ups” and “Taylor Made Freestyle.” Following this, Lamar released a series of tracks, including “Not Like Us,” which topped the charts and referred to Drake as a “certified paedophile.”
Despite Drake claiming he fed Lamar false intel on diss track “The Heart Part 6,” the track has received a negative reaction from fans. Drake’s Toronto mansion has also been in the spotlight recently, following reports that a man, thought to be Drake’s bodyguard, was shot outside the residence and news that another man had been detained for attempting to break into the rapper’s house.
While the feud between the two rappers appears to have intensified over recent weeks, Alvarez’s statement provides evidence to debunk the rumors surrounding the alleged assault
