Director George Miller has spoken about the on-set feud that occurred between Charlize Theron and Tom Hardy whilst filming Mad Max: Fury Road. In an interview with The Telegraph, Miller explained that despite the feud occurring, he saw it as the two actors mirroring their characters in the film. He also added that their behaviour caused disruption that could have been avoided. Theron described their relationship as being like “two parents in the front of the car”, where they would either fight or ignore each other. Both actors have taken responsibility for their feud stating that the gruelling schedule of the film and a lack of trust in each other contributed to their falling out.

Miller recently spoke with the cast of his new film, Furiosa, a prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road, before production began, emphasising the importance of safety, both physical and psychological. Some critics who have seen the latest instalment have been full of praise for the film, describing it as “really, really fucking good” and as delivering “stunning cinematography”. Miller’s new film, which will be released on May 24, stars Anya Taylor-Joy and Chris Hemsworth.

Last month it was revealed that one action scene in the new film took 78 days to film
