Chino Moreno, the lead vocalist of the famous band Deftones appears to be focused on finishing their awaited album. Moreno, however, did not mention any timeline for the album’s release instead emphasized the importance of quality. Moreno hinted that the band’s sound will be more “invigorated”.
Moreno was seen in a recording studio alongside the Velvet Hammer Music and Management Group CEO, David ‘Beno’ Benveniste and producer Nick Raskulinecz, who also produced the band’s Diamond Eyes and Koi No Yokan albums. The band’s guitarist, Stephen Carpenter confirmed last year that the band was working on new material and had teamed up with Raskulinecz for their third collaboration.
The band last released Ohms album in 2020, which received a five-star review from NME. Deftones recently appeared at Coachella, where they performed their electrifying cover of The Smiths’ “Please, Please, Please, Let Me Get What I Want.” Deftones and System Of A Down have also announced a huge show with The Mars Volta and more.
For Moreno, the most exciting part of being in the band is coming up with new, creative sound and that cannot be “topped,” he shared with KROQ. Moreno believes that creating something out of nothing with his friends in the room is a great feeling. Moreno hopes that the upcoming album will be great because they have recorded some good music already
