Two women in their early 20s have died in a Wolverhampton house fire, with four others taken to hospital on Saturday. One woman remains in a serious condition, while three others emerged uninjured. A third man has now been arrested on suspicion of murder in connection with the fire in Dunstall Hill that occurred shortly before 2 am BST. Two men, aged 19 and 22, remain in custody and are being questioned over the incident under extended detention times.
Ch Supt Richard Fisher has expressed his condolences, saying “two women have tragically lost their lives, and our thoughts are with their loved ones at this deeply distressing time.” Working alongside the grieving community, investigators are active and committed to doing all that can be done to determine the cause of the fire, he said.
