Extreme weather conditions have forced American band PVRIS to cancel their gig at O2 Victoria Warehouse in Manchester, UK. It was the first night of their scheduled tour in the country. The venue was found to be leaking water from the roof due to torrential storms. The band apologized to their fans and said they were sorry they had to cancel the show. They are, however, looking for an opportunity to reschedule it as soon as possible. PVRIS will still play their next tour date in Glasgow as planned.
The band’s last album, Evergreen, which was released in 2023 through Hopeless Records, discusses certain societal issues like female autonomy, fame, technology, and spectacle that it dwells on based on the post-pandemic culture. It paved the way for future collaborations such as “Burn The Witch” with fellow artists Tommy Genesis and Alice Longyu Gao. Lead singer, Lynn Gunn, has expressed her deep satisfaction working with them, saying that she was a longtime fan and records producer.
The new album was produced entirely by female artists, writers and producers whom she deemed as “bad bitches in music.” Gunn said she made the new project to be an experimental, fun project where everyone gets to express themselves sonically. The band’s future tour plans include dates across Europe and North America to promote the new album.
