During their opening performance for Taylor Swift in Paris last night (May 9), Paramore gave their cover of Talking Heads’ “Burning Down The House” its live debut. The band is supporting Swift on the European, UK, and Ireland leg of her “Eras Tour,” which is set to continue at the Paris La Défense Arena with three more shows this week. This follows their limited edition 12″ vinyl release of the cover as part of Record Store Day 2024.

The cover will also feature on an upcoming tribute album for the iconic Stop Making Sense concert film. In their nine-song set, Paramore also played hits such as “Still Into You,” “Brick By Boring Brick,” “The Only Exception,” “Ain’t It Fun,” and “This Is Why.” During the set, lead singer Hayley Williams introduced one of her fellow bandmates as “Taylor (Paramore’s Version).”

Swift also debuted several new songs from her latest album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” for the first time during her set. Paramore previously opened for the popstar at select North American concerts last year and frontwoman Williams expressed excitement at the prospect of touring with Swift again. Swift and Williams first met when they were both up for Best New Artist at the Grammys in 2008 and collaborated on the song “Castles Crumbling” in 2023.

The 2024 UK and Ireland leg of the “Eras Tour” will see Swift and Paramore play eight shows at Wembley Stadium in London this summer
