The story of the famed party island of Ibiza is set to be immortalized in a three-part comic book series titled “We Love Ibiza”. The first installment is expected to hit shelves in October 2024 and will trace the evolution of the island over the past 70 years. The comic book will feature illustrious names such as Carl Cox, Sven Väth, Terry Farley, DJ Pippi, Gee Moore, and Jamie Jones, while also capturing some of Ibiza’s hottest clubs, including Bora Bora, Es Paradis, and others.

Part one of the book explores the “Golden Oldie years” until 1986 while part two takes readers into the late ’80s to 2004, showcasing the White Isle’s party heyday. The third and final edition covers the years from 2005 onwards, tracing the history of the island to the present day.

The three volumes will feature around 150 pages each and are expected to offer a comprehensive look at Ibiza’s history. The book’s creators claim that by the time the project is completed, they would have interviewed over 400 people and conducted thousands of hours of research online.

“We Love Ibiza” is written by Aura Gold and illustrated by Rodrigo Cardama. It is described as the first of its kind and will be the “first time that this story is all in one place”. According to the book’s creators, the island’s history is one that needs to be told before it is forgotten, particularly those who created the magic of Ibiza.

“The history of Ibiza is like no other. What was once a poor farming island is now one of the most famous and fiercely loved places on the planet,” said the book’s creators. “It’s an important story which needs to be told before it’s forgotten, before the experimentalists, soul seekers, and risk-takers who created the magic of Ibiza are no longer with us.”

The book promises to be a fascinating read for anyone interested in the colorful history of Ibiza, its music, and its club culture. Check out the book’s website for more information on “We Love Ibiza”, and watch the first edition due this October in the video below
