Leeroy Thornhill is releasing his memoir called “Wildfire: My Ten Years Getting High in the Prodigy.” The book features unpublished photographs from The Prodigy’s early days, documenting Thornhill’s time with the band from 1990 to 2000. As a DJ, Dancer and keyboardist for the band, Thornhill recalls the unparalleled energy from The Prodigy’s unique sound and live performances that made the world intoxicated with excitement.
Thornhill’s announcement of “Wildfire” follows the band’s recent discovery of rare demos, hidden gems and unheard music. The Prodigy will release this music in a new compilation album alongside their U.K. and European tour dates starting this August.
The Prodigy originally formed in 1990. The English electronic dance music band included members Liam Howlett, Keith Flint and Maxim Reality. The Prodigy’s genres incorporate dance, rave, big beat, techno and industrial. They became one of the most well-known pioneering bands of the electronic dance music scene, selling over 30 million records worldwide.
Thornhill left The Prodigy in 2000 to pursue a solo career. He collaborated with rapper Saffron and DJ Windmill for his solo album “Supercharged.” Today, The Prodigy has sold over 30 million records worldwide and became one of the most well-known electronic dance music bands of all time
