An ardent Beatles fan named Adrienne received a reply from none other than Paul McCartney himself, almost six decades after she sent her message of love. In an old CBS interview from 1963, Adrienne expressed her undying love for the Fab Four. “I love The Beatles and I’ll always love them! Even when I’m 105 and an old grandmother, I’ll love ‘em. And Paul McCartney, if you are listening, Adrienne from Brooklyn loves you with all her heart!” And now, in a video on Instagram, McCartney reciprocated the love with an invitation to an exhibition of his photographs from 1963-64, currently on display at the Brooklyn Museum until August 18.

The newly restored version of The Beatles’ classic 1970 documentary ‘Let It Be’ is also in the news. It will be released on Disney+ on May 8, 2022. The film was directed by Michael Lindsay-Hogg and features footage of the Fab Four writing and recording their final studio album of the same name at London’s Twickenham Film Studios. Peter Jackson, who also directed the 2022 docuseries ‘Get Back’, has used state-of-the-art digital technology to restore the film reels to modern quality. The Let It Be shoot features as extra archive footage in Get Back.

In other McCartney-related news, he praised Beyoncé’s cover of his song ‘Blackbird’. Beyoncé included the song on her 2021 album ‘Cowboy Carter’. McCartney wrote on social media, “I am so happy with Beyoncé’s version of my song ‘Blackbird’. I think she does a magnificent version of it and it reinforces the civil rights message that inspired me to write the song in the first place.”

Finally, Paul McCartney is set to release the 1974 Wings live album ‘One Hand Clapping’ for the first time on June 14, 2022. The album was recorded when McCartney and Wings went to Abbey Road Studios to record for a documentary and possible live studio album but was never officially released, although various bootleg versions emerged over the years
