Two 12-year-old boys have been accused of murder after allegedly using a machete to attack and kill a man for no apparent reason, a court has heard. The victim, 19-year-old Shawn Seesahai, was attacked on Stowlawn playing fields in East Park, Wolverhampton, in November 2020 while visiting with friends. The accused pair, who cannot be identified for legal reasons, have both pleaded not guilty to the crime.
The court heard that Seesahai had not provoked or offered any violence towards the boys, and that he was “utterly defenceless” during the attack. Prosecutors claimed that the accused had been roaming the streets in possession of the lethal weapon when they attacked Seesahai, who had travelled to the UK to receive treatment for cataracts at the time of his death.
