Electronic musician Jamie xx has announced his new residency, The Floor, which will take place over 10 nights in London’s Venue MOT from May 16-25. The Floor will be a “bespoke 10-night London club residency” created by Jamie and the team behind the Bermondsey nightclub, with plans to unveil a totally new space. Jamie has long harboured a dream to have his own underground club in London, which he feels represents the best experiences from the London club scene including intimacy, community, curation and sound. With The Floor, Jamie is set to create that dream clubbing experience.
Each night will feature Jamie performing alongside a different, curated lineup, featuring friends, collaborators, and Venue MOT regulars. The lineup for each night will be kept under wraps until the doors open. The new residency follows Jamie’s release of two singles this year, “It’s So Good” in January and “Baddy On The Floor”, a collaboration with Honey Dijon, last month. Jamie also teased the collaboration during his set at All Points East in 2021 and has his long-awaited second album in the works.
Ticket sales for Jamie’s The Floor residency began at 2 pm on May 2 and have since been on sale. Fans have waited eagerly for this much-anticipated event, and Jamie has said he is devoted to bringing the best of London’s underground club scene to this residency. This will, without a doubt, be a memorable experience for all electronic music fans and anyone looking for that classic British party atmosphere.
