Tratratrax, a record label, has unveiled a new sub-label named Ambie-Tón, which will specialize in ambient music. The new subdivision will be specifically for ambient productions from the Tratratrax label’s existing roster. Despite this, the label is currently introducing a six-track EP composed by Ecuadorian producer Ezmeralda, titled ‘Ruido y Flor’, which translates to Noise and Flower. According to a statement from Tratratrax, the EP is described as showcasing “a shivering love for life via a glimmering, droney, loopy, noisy, glowy post-impressionistic sentiment.”

Tratratrax disclosed via Instagram that Ambie-Tón is a “brave new venture into the heart of the haze.” The new sub-label venture resulted in various opportunities for Tratratrax’s customers to enjoy ambient music alongside their roster’s beats. Ambient music has grown to become an increasingly popular genre of music in recent years, with several festivals and venues beginning to host ambient-only events.

In addition to promoting the music label and its artists, Tratratrax offers a range of merchandise that can be purchased via its website, including t-shirts, posters, and vinyl releases. Tratratrax’s new venture is an opportunity for fans to explore more of the label’s artists while also acknowledging their love for ambient music.

With the success of artists such as Brian Eno and William Basinski, records labels have realized that there is a significant market for ambient music. Nonetheless, records from ambient artists may not have had their fair share of publicity. Tratratrax seeks to address this by forming a sub-label that specializes in the genre. The introduction of Ambie-Tón could benefit the label and its roster of musicians and producers significantly, while also exposing the public to the genre’s ever-expanding scope of sound
