Post Malone surprised fans at night two of Stagecoach Festival by playing a set filled with classic country cover songs. Prior to his appearance, the artist had asked for song requests through a phone number. Brad Paisley was one of the special guests who joined Malone on stage to sing their song ‘‘I’m Gonna Miss Her’’. Malone’s cover songs included Vince Gill’s ‘One More Last Chance’ and Alan Jackson’s ‘Chattahoochee’, while he sang ‘Suds In The Bucket’ with guest artist Sara Evans. The artist kicked off his performance with ‘Whitehouse Road’ by Tyler Childers.
The annual country festival, held on the same site as Coachella Festival in Indio, California, also saw a surprise appearance by Lana Del Rey, who joined Paul Cauthen for a performance of The Righteous Brothers’ legendary ‘Unchained Melody’. This year is shaping up to be a good one for Post Malone, who has been featured on Taylor Swift’s lead single ‘Fortnight’ and collaborated with Beyoncé on her album ‘Cowboy Carter’. Malone has been teasing a move towards the country genre, and played a cover of Hank Willliams’ ‘Honky Tonk Blues’ during a surprise show in Nashville.
