The National add huge Cardiff Castle show to summer 2024 UK and Ireland tour plans

The National, an American quintet consisting of Matt Berninger, Aaron Dessner, Bryce Dessner, Bryan Devendorf and Scott Devendorf, have announced a massive Cardiff Castle show in their upcoming summer 2024 UK and Ireland tour schedule. The band is set to perform in the iconic Wales establishment on July 3 and will be joined by special guests, New Zealand psychedelic rock band Unknown Mortal Orchestra, as the opening act for the night. Tickets for the Cardiff Castle gig are now available to purchase online.

The National has also confirmed that they will perform at several UK and Ireland festivals this summer, including the Other Stage at this year’s edition of Glastonbury, Primavera Sound, Øya Festival, All Together Now Festival, and Montreux Jazz Festival, in addition to embarking on a joint US tour with The War On Drugs this autumn.

The band has unveiled plans for varied tour dates, which also include shows across France, Germany, Italy, and Austria. Their tour will begin with a performance in Carroponte, Milan, Italy, on June 2 and end with a Copenhagen, Denmark show at the Royal Arena on August 6. The National has shared support details ahead of the shows on their tour such as in Paris, the support will be from Kevin Morby, and in Cardiff, support will be from Unknown Mortal Orchestra.

Furthermore, The National is also reportedly going to feature on the upcoming Talking Heads tribute album, “Everyone’s Getting Involved: A Tribute to Talking Heads’ Stop Making Sense”. The project was first announced in December by A24 Music, and so far, the covers of ‘Burning Down The House’, ‘Making Flippy Floppy’, ‘Take Me To The River’ and ‘Girlfriend Is Better’ have been released
