Taylor Swift has posted a behind-the-scenes video from rehearsals for the European and UK/Ireland leg of her ‘Eras Tour’. The video has led fans to speculate that songs from her new album, ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, could be added to the setlist. To date, Swift has stuck to her 45-track set, which is split into her different eras and albums, including an acoustic ‘surprise songs’ section.
Fans have taken to Reddit to share their excitement and concern over the potential setlist change. Some fans have theorized which songs Swift may remove to make room for the new songs. Others expressed their surprise that Swift appeared to be adding her new songs to the set, stating that she loves to do exciting and unexpected things. This could add at least ten to fifteen minutes to the already lengthy show.
Swift revealed in a recent interview with Florence Welch, who is featured on the ‘Tortured Poet’s’ song ‘Florida!!!’, that a surprise appearance from Welch on stage in the UK could be possible. This summer, Swift will play eight sold-out shows at Wembley Stadium in London with Paramore.
In a recent review of ‘The Tortured Poets Department’, NME rated the album three stars. The review noted that Swift seems to be in tireless pursuit of superstardom; however, this pursuit can come with negative public opinion. The pitfalls that mire her 11th studio album show that she “can do better.” Shortly after the album’s release, Swift surprised fans with an extended ‘Anthology’ edition of the record.
