Kim Jong-wan of NELL has teamed up with Gyubin, a South Korean singer, to release ‘Special’, a new collaboration project. The inspirational new song is billed as a gift to Gyubin’s fans to celebrate 100 days since her debut single, ‘Really Like You’ came out in January.

Having previously collaborated with rapper Wonstein and Dynamic Duo’s Gaekko, Gyubin says she made ‘Special’ with “nervousness, excitement, and gratitude.” The senior singer and producer Kim Jong-wan of NELL, who wrote and produced the song, added that “Ultimately, ‘Special’ sings hope. I hope this song can be a huge support to everyone who is going through a hard time.”

The instant attack of handclaps and a warm electric/acoustic guitar sound greet the listener from the start. In the chorus, they sing, “Just shout it out / So that the whole world can hear you / Shout it out / Show who you are to the world / Spread your wings out and soar into the sky / This is your universe.”

Meanwhile, in other K-pop news, BTS’ RM will soon release ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’, his second solo album. The album takes on the universal emotions that we all go through at some point, such as feeling like an outsider who doesn’t fit in. It will have 11 new tracks and will be released late next month, marking his first music since enlisting for mandatory military service in December 2023.

Both ‘Special’ and ‘Right Place, Wrong Person’ are great additions to the K-pop scene and sure to brighten listeners day while delivering powerful messages of hope and acceptance
