Molinare Creative Group Expands Operations into Liverpool

Molinare Creative Group’s division, Notorious DIT, is opening a new facility in Liverpool as part of a larger strategy to strengthen its operations outside of London and support regional film and television productions. Notorious DIT is expanding to the Northwest of England, providing its suite of services including DIT, data management, LAB and on-set and near-set services for locally produced content. The facility is located at Liverpool Innovation Park, which places it strategically for Liverpool, Manchester, and Yorkshire-based productions.

Notorious DIT will work with the Liverpool Film Office to create opportunities for home-grown talent in the region. With the Film Office announcing their plans to support over 1,000 diverse new entrants into the screen sector over the next three years, Notorious DIT will run training sessions and on-set work experience, with a specific focus on DIT and LAB. The long-term plan is to expand their presence in the region further to include offline editorial, ADR, and finishing post-production services.

Supported by Liverpool Film Office, Notorious DIT’s plans align with the efforts of the Liverpool Film Office to create a more diverse and inclusive screen workforce in the region. Liverpool has played host to some of the biggest dramas to hit UK screens over the past year, including Paramount+’s Sexy Beast and A Gentleman in Moscow, as well as the BBC’s Time and The Responder. As a result, the region has quickly become a significant film and TV hub outside of London.

Michael Pentney, Managing Director at Notorious DIT, says the expansion is an important moment for the company. He notes that they “feel like we’re coming home… having a presence in Liverpool means we can cultivate talent and be a positive part of change”. Nigel Bennett, CEO of Molinare Creative Group, notes that while London has been Molinare’s home for over 50 years, there is a much more extensive wealth of talent, facilities, and landscape outside that of the M25 that the industry should be utilising and exploring. Bennett adds that he is excited to be on this journey with Liverpool Film Office, given their impressive growth plans.

Lynn Saunders, Head of Liverpool Film Office, is delighted that Molinare Creative Group has chosen Liverpool as a location for its first facility outside of London, adding that this move will undoubtedly attract new investment and provide a much-needed boost to the local economy. Saunders notes that they wish the Molinare team great success in their new venture and look forward to being part of the journey in creating a more diverse and inclusive screen workforce in the Liverpool City Region
